Itinerary - 6 DAYS LADAKH-RENDEZVOUS
- In your best interest, sometimes you may need to make necessary modifications to your vacation itinerary. Where practical, we will advise you before you leave your home town, although we may occasionally be forced to make changes along the way. We will keep you informed at all times.
- Bad weather in mountainous regions can cause flight delays. These problems mainly occur in the Ladakh region of India. If the delay is prolonged, it may be necessary for us to reroute the walk and tour, perhaps to an area more easily accessible by road transport. We accept no liability for charges incurred as a result of flight delays and missed international flight connections. However, we will do our best to help you.
- You understand and agree that the proposed tour may expose you to levels of physical exertion to which you may not be accustomed or expose you to hazards inherent in traveling through remote areas which may be subject to, among other things, political, physical, sanitary or climatic conditions. By agreeing to use our services, you accept these dangers and unfavorable conditions.
- You must purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes a provision for helicopter rescue when you pay your deposit.
- We strongly recommend that you visit your doctor and dentist before your vacation. You should consult your doctor about current vaccination requirements. Full details of pre-existing medical conditions must be sent to us when booking. Elderly clients or clients with pre-existing medical conditions may require a letter from their doctor clearing them for the trek and Beyond Himalayas Pvt. Limited. Limited. Ltd. reserves the right to verify these documents before confirmation of tours and treks.
- A valid passport is required for all tourists. Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months from the start of the trip, with at least two clean pages per country to visit.
- A valid visa is required for the entire destination. You should always consult your doctor or the nearest travel clinic for the latest information on recommended health precautions, both vaccination and malaria prophylaxis.
- Complete medical kits are carried on all trips. Additionally, medical oxygen and portable altitude chambers are carried as a precaution on high-altitude hikes and climbing expeditions. All meals during the trek are prepared specifically for your group with strict hygiene standards and sterile washing facilities are provided.
- Altitude sickness can affect anyone. Serious problems are avoided by incorporating rest and acclimatization. For normal symptoms, a drop in altitude or time in a portable acclimatization chamber leads to a rapid recovery.
- Travel insurance that includes helicopter evacuation is highly valued.
- Customers over the age of sixty must complete a personal and medical travel history questionnaire. People under the age of sixteen can join specific family outings and private groups.
DAY 01
ARRIVAL AT LEH ACCLIMATIZE
We will meet you at Leh airport. Flights usually land at 11:30 am and you will drive directly to a beautiful local hotel. Spend the day acclimatizing as you observe the simple life of the Ladakhi people amidst serene landscapes. In the evening you can explore the lively Leh market. Beneath the impressive eighth-floor Leh Palace, the market square offers a showcase of cultural fusion.
DAY 02
EXCURSION TO THE SHAM VALLEY
After breakfast we embark on our first day excursion to the enchanting Sham Valley. We start the tour at the Hall of Fame (war memorial museum), a site containing relics of the Indo-Pak, Indo-Zion wars that took place in the region till the last Kargil war in 1999. We will continue to Gurudwara . Patthar Sahib, visit the gravity-defying confluence of Magnetic Hill and the Indus. Return to Leh city and spend the night exploring the local market. Drive to Shanti Stupa in the afternoon to watch the sunset.
DAY 03
LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY
Like all overland tours around Ladakh, this tour will take you through picturesque landscapes, mountain passes, river valleys and sparse mountain settlements. Across the mighty peak of Khardungla (the world's highest motorable road at 18,300 feet above sea level), drive into the Indo-Pakistan border region of the fascinating Nubra Valley. Upon reaching Nubra Valley, we will visit the 100-foot Buddha statue and glimpse the Karakoram mountain ranges far below the valley. In the cold sand dunes of the desert, enjoy the double hump camel ride. Dinner at the campsite.
DAY 04
NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE
Today we will depart towards Pangong Lake from Nubra Valley via Shayok. Upon reaching Pangong Lake we will check into the camp and spend the day enjoying the beauty of the lake. After afternoon tea and snacks, we will take a short walk through the vast emptiness of Pangong Tso Lake, tinged with green and blue. End the day absorbing the silence of the place and have dinner.
DAY 05
PANGONG LAKE TO LEH
When the early sun rises on the stillness of Pangong Lake, one must make the most of it. We will take a walk around the serene lake, immersing ourselves in the divinity of the simple life of the locals and discovering their many stories. Early afternoon, we will depart back towards Leh. On the way we will visit Thiksey Monastery and Rancho, the famous film school of the three idiots. In the evening, spend time shopping for souvenirs and gifts for family and friends back home.
DAY 06
DEPARTURE FROM LEH DELHI
Depart Leh for Delhi with sweet memories of the trip in Ladakh.
